Elektra Awards 2021 – Manufacturer of the Year

The vertically stacked BiCS Flash three-dimensional memory has a higher die area density compared to 2D nand flash memory and reduces the chip size by optimising both circuit technology and the manufacturing process. In addition, spaces between memory cells are wider than in 2D nand flash to improve programming speed by increasing the amount of data for a single-shot programming sequence. The wide spaces between memory cells reduce cell coupling and improve reliability compared to the 2D memory.

Judges pointed to the “impressive” range of customers, research channels and investment in current and future projects. One judge applauded the detail on each project delivered “with clear strategy insights and best in class manufactured parts”.
